Today we gathered for a Qi Science practice on the eve of the summer solstice and explored the mysteries of the heart. With the sun reaching its peak power tomorrow, it felt like perfect timing to dive into what Teacher Wei calls our "baby heart", our true radiant self.
We started practice dancing and moving qi around to Debbie Nargi-Brown's song titled "Oh Grief, Oh Joy":
"Oh Grief, oh joy
held in the very rhythm of our beating hearts.
Dig down into your roots,
that's where it all begins.
Reach up into the stars,
embrace all that you are.
You are held, surrounded, grounded by Love."
Teacher Wei's teachings from the sages in our June 2025 class went deep into the wisdom and power of the heart. From Teacher Wei: "All the wisdom can be found in inside your heart. You don't need to find wisdom outside. If you don't know your heart, what we learned, all the methods are not useful. If you know your true self, you are Buddha." This cuts right to the heart of our Qi Science practice, doesn't it? We give life and power to all of the techniques and methods we practice when we recognize and move from the healing source within our own hearts.
Teacher Wei also reminded us this month that "practice needs to go to the source of the heart, we find everything from our heart. The pure heart can receive the universe information and use this information to create everything." This isn't metaphorical language, it's pointing to something more tangible. When we return to the heart's source, we're not just finding inner peace, we're connecting with the field that receives and transmits cosmic intelligence and the potential to restructure our existence to be in more reciprocity, more acceptance, more peace, and more love.
I'd like to paraphrase the words of Jamie Freeman, who follows this same theme in his writing, but from a more scientific perspective.
They taught you the heart was just a glorified meat pump. That it squeezes and pushes blood like some crude mechanical device. A hydraulic engine made of flesh.
But it is false. And the real science proves it.
Dr Francisco Torrent-Guasp, a Spanish cardiac researcher, discovered what the textbooks still refuse to acknowledge, that the heart is not a pump. He dissected thousands of hearts and found that the heart is a single continuous muscle band, folded into a spiral. He proved the heart works like a vortex generator, creating suction and torque, not pressure.
He called it the Helical Ventricular Myocardial Band and it changes everything.
The real movement of blood comes from pressure differentials, electromagnetic flow, and coherent resonance. The blood spirals naturally. It does not need to be forced through miles of arteries and capillaries. That idea doesn't make any sense. The so-called pump is not strong enough to push thick fluid through 60,000 miles of tubing. That is basic physics.
Here is the truth. Blood moves before the heart forms in the embryo. It flows via frequency, resonance, and electric charge. The body is a field, not a factory.
Your heart creates a toroidal electromagnetic field that radiates six metres from the body. This field syncs with the Earth, the Sun, and every living being around you. It is a resonator. A tuner. A conductor. It aligns the rhythm of your cells. It feels. It remembers. It emits. And it responds to emotion, thought, light, sound, and breath.
When you feel love, grief, fear, or peace, your heart transmits it. It is the central frequency modulator of your biology.
And the institutions know this. The HeartMath Institute has measured these fields for decades. They know the heart has more neuronal cells than parts of the brain. They know it is a second brain. They know coherence in the heart transforms the entire nervous system.
When you know this truth, you understand that trauma, emotion, and disconnection break the heart field.
Your heart is not a pressure valve. It is a vortex. A field tuner. A resonating gateway between physical and energetic worlds.
It is the instrument of your soul.
Stephanie shared something beautiful during our practice that deepened everything we were exploring. She reminded us that the center of our galaxy is also a spiral, and that scientists believe our Earth is optimally aligned with the galactic center right now. When we understand that our hearts are spirals too, we begin to grasp the profound resonance we have with the very center of the universe. Our spiral hearts are literally tuned to receive the infinite energy, healing, and blessings flowing from the galactic core.
When you place your hand on your chest, you're not just feeling muscle tissue, you're connecting with the observer that's been with you all along, the one that wakes up with you each morning and never leaves your side. This summer solstice time reminds us that we too can learn to shine from our center, radiating the coherent frequencies of love and wisdom that our baby hearts know so well.
